Doreen East
Doreen East was born in St. Ann, Jamaica, the third of four children. She developed a love of reading at a very early age and by the age of nine she was reading Shakespeare and many other intriguing writers. Adults found her unwavering love of reading peculiar, but reading was and is her passion and out of her love of reading, grew a natural love of writing.
As a student, Doreen excelled in English and Literature, but surprisingly she went on to become a mathematics and science teacher and then a nurse. However, Doreen never abandoned her love of reading and writing. After living in Canada for two years, Doreen migrated to South Florida and immersed herself in writing.
